The team at PZ Construction is extremely thorough. Paul (the owner) performed an inspection which included both the outside of the house and accessible attic spaces. He provided the most detailed estimate of any of the contractors which included descriptions and materials for each phase of work. The crew was very diligent during the project and performed a daily cleanup of all waste material, etc. All of the copper work is done on site and the team provided picture updates of the various stages of work. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the work performed and will likely use PZ for any future needs.
Hi, I hope you are doing well. You installed my architectural metal tile shingles in 2010. I am selling my home. I am moving to the new area and have already planned to have you install the same architectural Villa style roof in the new home.
We had a new roof done by PZ Construction & builders last winter Paul was professional from the very beginning and he kept to schedule and was very responsive to all questions and concerns. Given this severe winter we had no bad roofing problems. I will highly recommend him for any roofing job.
Excellent; two workers for 10 weeks, they cleaned up every day and were very professional. Repair of tile roof, tuckpointing of chimney, replacement of copper valleys (by gables) and replacement of copper gutters, inlaid eaves (new varnished beadboard) and non-copper downspouts (due to concerns about theft).
They did a good job giving me a quote, but I did not end up using them. They were good and actually had the lowest quote and were recommended on the list. PZ Construction & Builders Inc. came out and gave me a quote probably a month or two months ago for roofing service.
Replaced flat garage roof by removing several layers of old roof and replacing. They kept their appointment and arrived each day on time. Very cordial and pleasant workers. Answered all our questions. Job was completed on time. Excellent workmanship.
They came out for an estimate to replace gutters. He was professional and prompt. His estimate was middle of the road. I have good things to say about the individual and the estimate I just chose a different company.
The owner is very responsive and punctual. He always responded to our requests/questions and even came to our home one Sunday when a small problem arose. DESCRIPTION OF WORK They replaced a chronically leaking flat roof with a copper roof. It was expensive, but we had tried several other "cheaper" solutions to no avail. This copper roof has not yet leaked, despite record rainfall.
They did roof repairs on a tile roof. They had to do a lot of restoration and copper work. These guys performed absolutely outstanding. They are old world craftsmen and I was very lucky to have come across them.
Overall I was very happy with them and would use again. Make sure you know exactly what you want and draw a picture (or have pictures) to ensure you know exactly what you're getting. PZ did a metal roof on our bow window and awning. Initially when the job was first complete we weren't that thrilled but they came back and re-worked it at no charge. The modifications were simple - however, it was professional that they did. My only two minor issues were that the person doing the work didn't speak English all that well so we were having a hard time communicating. Had he understood me better - he could have re-worked on the spot. And two- there was a small spot where the metal roofing was a little short and wasn't completely straight.
We used PZ Construction & Builders Inc. for chimney repair. They were very thorough, very professional, and very punctual. We wouldn't even know that they had been here. They were very good.
They're great on every level. I often refer my clients to them. They have done both roof repair and roof replacement for me.
Falling down plaster in my small foyer ceiling directed my attention to the flat copper roof above. The wood support under the copper in the affected corner was rotten. The first roofing contractor from whom I got an estimate told me I needed to have the masonry repaired before the roof could be replaced. I got the first roofing contractor's name from an internet search. An Angie's list internet search for copper roofs did not yield any contractors. Fortunately I received the Angie's List magazine and saw PZ's ad which mentioned copper roofs. After getting the masonry repaired I got PZ's and another estimate. The one from PZ Construction was the lowest. Before I signed the contract I asked Paul if he could give me an estimate for another small roof. We corresponded by e-mail and after sending him pictures he sent me an estimate for the second roof which also seemed quite reasonable. The work was started the following week and took about 4 days to complete both roofs. I asked Paul about putting additional insulation in between the rafters before the solid core insulation was installed. He told me if I supplied the insulation it could be put it in at no extra charge. The 2 workmen who did the work took about 4 days to complete the job, working steadily and leaving the area very neat every night when they left the job. Working with copper is definitely a skilled job and the workmen really knew what they were about. Because the roofs were off the second floor I was able to see their progress and was really impressed with their workmanship. The first copper roof lasted 80 years which Paul said was about typical for copper roofs in this climate. I'm hopeful that PZ's roof will last as long. 2 copper roofs replaced: a 6'x12' entryway roof.and a 2'x16' decorative balcony. The old roofs were removed, rotten wood was replaced on the exposed deck (quite a lot of it on the 6'x12'), an insulation board and a layer of insulation felt was installed. Sheets of copper were fabricated with flat locked panels and seams soldered and copper counter flashings were installed after counter flashings were cut into the masonry and caulked. Copper scuppers were fabricated and installed.
